My friends are moving to Ireland at the end of the year. She has lived in USA since she was 2 years old but is British citizen. She will be going there with her fiance and child (3 years old).

Although she can work legally she hasn't lived in Europe so it will be different.

Any advice? Thanks

Yes, its very different from the USA, I've only visited, never lived in the US to I can't really say what exactly will be different apart from currency weather, education system, welfare system government etc.

Its more relaxed here, people are more real, they say have a nice day (in real terms) and actually mean it too.

I guess like most immigrants (apart from the economic ones) she'll either love it and never leave or begone within a year.

A girl in my job wants to move to Australia even though she has never been there. I told her to at least visit on holiday first..

What part of Ireland is she going.

It is impossible to answer this question. It is radically different to the US. More about who you are , than what you look like .
But if she is expecting to live in a thatched cottage and see dancing at turnpikes, she will be disappointed..

Only advice is to relax and get her accomodation sorted before she comes.

Ask her to make sure she brings an Umbrella, yes it will be quite different from the US, If all fails, she can join me, I'll be home again in 3 days
