The USA is a constitutionally limited republic. Unfortunately, our leadership over the last 40 years has lost sight of this.
Democracy is mob rule. It has ultimately caused the destruction of every country/empire/state in which it was implemented.

It never will. We are a democratic republic. We elect our officials to speak in our place instead of voting on every little detail that affects us.

I hope it makes a comeback in 2008.... and the only "who" that can bring back a democratic process will be a majority of the citizens. (and non-tampered voting processes).
