There are many causes of dark circles, from age, heredity, allergies, cold or sinus infection, bone structure and glasses which are not so commonly known.

If you would like to apply home remedies to reduce dark circles, here are some of my suggestions:
Buy a box of regular, old fashioned unflavored gelatin (e.g. Knox) from grocery store. Take a small cup or bowl and put in 1 teaspoon of the gelatin mix. Add one tablespoon of boiling water & stir for a minute. Test it on your wrist to make sure it is not too hot. Then, using a cotton ball, pat it under your eyes as you would an eye cream or gel. Go lie down and listen to some music, or take a bath & let it stay on for at least 30 minutes. Then just rinse it off.Gelatin is very high in Vitamin K & Biotin. It will not remove your dark circles on the first application (but you will notice a difference), but if you do it daily for a week, and then 2-3 times a week for maintenance, you should notice a drastic reduction in dark circles.

I have this problem and it's because my skin is very fair and unfortunately dark undereyes run in my family. To minimize how it looks I use foundation specifically made for undereye circles and then I use powder all over my face. They say a little bit of sparkle under the eye helps somehow. I think my foundation has a little bit in it and it seems to help draw more attention to my eyes. You can also wear pretty eye makeup and this will help shift attention away from the bad spot.
As far as how to prevent eye circles I have always heard to drink more water and make sure to get 8 hours sleep EVERY night. But as I said, my undereye circles run in my family so I'm pretty much stuck.

I have the same problem. IAnd I have been using Oil of OLAY , night of olay firming cream. It is wonderful. I put it on every night after I wash my face before bed and then if I still feel like I have circles in the morning it is okay to put on before you put on your make up. Or for guys it still works wonders, my dad uses it(just no make up, HA HA). Anyway, I hope this helps it helped me alot when I was in the hospital for a month while my daughter had a liver transplant. Even though I was tired it helped me look refreshed. Her transplant doctor recommended it to me. Good Luck!!!

same thing with me. I have dark circles because some of the people in my life are the contributing problems for my dark circles.I look like a racoon until I went to MAC and recently purchased some concealer to cover em up.
doesn't have to be any fancy brand, but just concealer.
Just slap it on and roll.

grrr i have this prob too and im sick of people telling me i look bloomin tired!
i have tried countless eye creams and have found non of them really work - all a waste of money. Although i might try that Oil of Olay one someone mentioned ;-)
i find the best thing is to use a liquid form concealer. the one i find which is best for me is the Loreal Touche Magique for about £6. it comes in diff shades to suit your skin tone and is much cheaper than the expensive, yet popular, YSL concealer!

In addition to the great advice about sleep and water -
You should try Arbonne's eye cream ? I have been using it for 6 months and often wake looking like I haven't slept. Or with bags to boot. I have noticed it really helps (all natural too)
It's part of the nutrimin c re9 regime.
