Vodka shouldn't stink

I am not sure that you are taking this in the right direction. If you don't know that vodka doesn't smell, you probably are not an experienced enough drinker to be trying to get away with drinks before interviews... And I am leaning towards it does not matter so much what you drink as much as where you drink it. Most bars have a "bar" smell to them from smoke and stale drink smells. That will be on you as much as anything. I think you might want to rethink your calming technique. But, like everyone else has probably told you, vodka has no smell. (unless it is a cheap one, "top shelf" only) I still think the best advice is to let a perspective employer see you nervous as opposed to drunk.

Not really, I won't tell you not to do it, as I am prone to doing similar ! People say vodka doesn't smell but it does ! all I can say is drink a small tot of your particular favourite then cover it up ! perfume, toothpaste, chewing gum, mints... if anyone notices you can always say you were out celebrating the night before.. but you probably don't want to look like a party animal in Uni interviews ! I drink red wine and I don't get many complaints. Good luck anyway !

Er Vodka does smell believe me! All alcohol smells and as the interviewers won't have been drinking, they will smell it a mile off and it may even cost you your place at uni if they smell it on you. I would forget about the drink and get some nerves of steel. x

If your vodka smells, you're drinking bad vodka. High quality vodkas (Leusosowa, Monopolowa, Kreuskosova, etc.) have almost no odor. Mixing them with natural fruit acids (orange, cranberry, lime, etc.) will further cover the scent.

I almost hate to mention it, but Everclear has virtually no smell or taste. You just have to be very careful with it. One shot of Everclear has the same alcohol content as 2.25 shots of most liquors. If you use it, dilute it at least twice as much as you would dilute a normal liquor.

Good luck with your interviews!

EDIT:
Gin has a VERY strong odor of juniper berries. You'll walk around all day smelling like an alcoholic Christmas tree.

Gin And Tonic's Are What Most Professionals Drink Because You Can Not Smell The Alcohol

Vodka does not smell, but I would not recommend drinking even one alcoholic drink before interviews - especially ones that might affect the whole of your life!

Take valerian - available in chemists - to calm nerves but still leave you compus mentus. Good luck with the interviews but DO NOT DRINK!!

Vodka is the least stinky of alcohols. In fact it's very easily hidden. Go out and have a nice meal and a bloody mary. If you have something spicy for food, then you can explain why you're popping a mint.

Rather than face them stinking of the old booz-a-roo, try going to the chemist and getting these non- prescription calming tablets Calmo or whatever they are called. Whilst one bevoir won't damage you a bird cannot fly on one wing ( i.e. have another).
