Is it possible to have Faith and not religion? Love God and Jesus without following the "church going crowd"? If so, is there a name for it?

**I am not trying to insult or disrespect anyone (whether you believe or not) so please do not insult or disrespect me in your answer.. thank you. **

Christianity isn't a religion, so yes you can follow Jesus without a "religion" per say. I do believe religion serves the purpose of teaching us different ways of understanding the word of God, and for that reason I adhere to a religion. But to answer your question, it definetely isn't neccesary.

It is not to religion to go to a church and practice with a bunch of people, religion is part of having faith.
Religion is the term used to describe a faith that has some structure to it, be it personal religion, which can happen, ascetic life for instance is an example. But it can also mean the formal structure of many, which is also a very acceptable way to practice faith.
The good thing about practicing in a group or crowd as you put it is that each is held accountable for the other, if practiced properly, and this helps ini those times when one is bombarded with temptation, and you have to do is spend 2 minutes here and if you are weak, you will be taking away from grace.
Even those who live ascetical, monastic lives are tempted and seek help. I hope you do the same.
God bless you always, thanks for the opportunity to spread the Gospel of faith.

It is very much possible. We are not to follow religion, or "church going crowd", we are to follow Jesus. However you need to go the Church, a Church that preaches and teaches the Gospel of Christ and the Whole Gospel, no matter who it offends. If the Preacher or Teacher in a Church offends you then they should apologize, but if the Word of God offends you then you need to make things right with God. The reason we go to Church is to Worship God and fellowship with other believers, not to follow the "church going crowd".

Religion is just that.....you can be the most religious person in the world and still go to hell..... if you have not accpeted Jesus as your personal savior, then what have you gained.....
Jesus said to the Pharisees (which were the most religious people of that day) "you are nothing but white washed tombs full of dead mans bones"....They kept the laws to a T, but crucified Jesus-----Hmmm religion?

It depends.
Do you think Jesus was a nice guy who was a prophet, or a good teacher? If so this isn't the truth.
If you believe Jesus is the son of the living God and came to die for our sins then great! He can't be what non christians claim to be or he is a liar, or a nut.
Read your bible, start at the new test. You'll learn about the real God/Jesus! :-)
