How do I open a PDF file in Adobe Pagemaker?

I am trying to complete an electronic application that is written as a PDF file. I downloaded AdobePagemaker trial addition but cannot open the PDF file with this software. Does anyone have idea of how I can open the PDF file in Pagemaker or, more importantly, how I can enter text onto the PDF-format application form? Thanks!

You cannot open and read a PDF file in Adobe Pagemaker, it takes the Reader to do that. And you cannot edit a PDF document in anything but the full Adobe Acrobat program, a hideously huge and expensive piece of software. UNLESS, you download and use Foxit Reader, a very small, very fast and efficient reader. Foxit also has a Creator and Editor, which you can get on a 30-day trial basis. My strong suggestion to you is to go to Add/Remove Programs in the Control Panel and uninstall Adobe Pagemaker. It will NOT do what you want to do. Close the control panel and restart your computer and then download and install the Foxit software. You will not regret using it, I guarantee!

Actually you can edit a pdf file in pagemaker, if the file was created in pagemaker [check the document properties, and the producer or creator will say pagemaker]. Just go to file, open, and select file type pdf.

You can download this filter for pagemaker to edit other pdf that were created in other applications, but everything may not import directly.

As a general rule, you should try to edit the pdf files in the application that created, if possible.

To edit PDF files you need Adobe Acrobat. There are a few other programs that will enable you to create/edit a PDF, but the best is Adobe Acrobat.
