Well they did try to do away with the PBA and while prices have gone up as a result of some FTA changes to it- I dread the thought of what would have happened if the PBA had gone out the window.
The changes that I have noticed is that there is even more rubbish on the TV than before, less American produced items (China is probably doing that to america anyway). Some markets have opened slightly but still are riducously protective and American produce is subsidised by their GOVT so there still isnt a level playing field.. There have been changes but I cant think of any really obvious ones because our major problems are coming from the China.... they use raw sewrage to fertilise their crops and those vegetable are allowed to be imported without complying to the same standards that local produce has to .. so comapred to the any problems from the FTA... the China impact will win hands down. Similarly the dont have the same OHS and legislative standards to comply with so they ar flooding the market with cheap items but unlike post war japan that was cheap but good quality the chinese product is cheap and nasty but nontheless doing local businesses out of sales and sending many to the wall along with the employment.
