Spend a lot of time with him and make him happy, have him ask a doctor for things that could lower his rates of having a heart attack. I'm sorry, it may lower his rates, but 1 more, that's a slim chance, just spend time with him and make him happy, that's all I can say.

Since you said "another" heart attack I am assuming he had one already and has seen a Doctor and was in the hospital for confirmation. If you truly wish to help him encourage him to take his medicine, follow the lowered sodium ( salt) and lowered fat diet ordered by his Doctor, quit smoking if he does, decrease any alcohol intake to none except maybe a nightly red wine, exercise as recommended by his Doctor, make sure he keeps his followup appt. While it might slow him down the first month or so he will be back to his old self in no time and have many years ahead of him. The first heart attack if you survive it is a warning sign it's time to take stock of your life and make the changes needed if you want to see old age. You cant do it for him he must do it for himself. If he doesnt do what he is told to do your right he will have another and this time might not survive.

My husband had 5 in a 7 month period. Had a year of recovery but after 2 stints and medication, he's doing great! What kind of help are you looking for? A good doctor, medications, suggestions, what?

There isn't much we can do online for you...talk to his family and ask them if there is anything you can do to help.
