I know some food products are not allowed over the border. Gulp is biodegradeable. I just wanted to know if I can bring it into Canada for a future walleye trip.

Im asking because I think it could be considered a food product and I know some food products cant be brought into the country. Last year my friends had to empty their bags because they brought jerky. It was a pain.

Because the product is biodegradable Berkly has to be very careful that the product is almost completely sterile of all forms of life. The Border regulations are in place to hinder the flow of alien species of parasites and bacteria.

If you wanted to bring you favorite nightcrwalers or live bait-fish across the line then yes, you would have a problem. In Canada we've had some trouble with invasive bait-fish species - the goby - to name just one.

If you do want to use nichtcrawlers, leaches or bait-fish, please buy the live bait once you get to the lake and talk to the seller to know how to dispose of leftover bait.

As for Berkley Gulp products... you can buy them up here so I don't see why you couldn't bring them across the border.

I would imagine so.

The only place I have heard or rules similar to that is in Japan they wont let you use plastic/rubber worms over there, but Gulp or other biodegradeable stuff is allowed.
