Jet lag is when you are tired because the time change and travelling through the time zones can be hard on your body. It's not easy to change eating, waking, sleeping habits to accomodate the "new hours" and that is where the word LAG comes from cause you are slow to adjust :)

Jet lag is much more than just changing time zones, although that does cause it. It has do do with the changes in your body from altering and changing its regular cycles.

Basically, the human body is not meant to be transported that much and alter its surroundings that much. So, it reacts.

Great ways to prepare your body to overcome jet lag include drinking lots of water, good exercise, deep breathing, reducing stress, and allowing plenty of rest.

Long flight, lack of oxygen, change of time zones, dehydration, constant droning noise, all make you tired at the end of a trip.

if you live in n.y. and fly to hawaii, they'll be sitting down to dinner, and your body will think it's time for bed, due to the time difference.
