It's not too many banks not just in Michigan, but in the United States that doesn't use Chex Systems. You could do like the first person who posted said and check with the bank that reported you to see what can be done to get it cleared up, or if you don't have enough time or in need of an atlernative right this minute, you might want to try these guys out.

AccountNow is an alternative to a checking account except they do NOT use ChexSystems, it's guarateed approval, you get a debit card with online billpay that BUILDS CREDIT.

I've supplied the link for you to check it out

Sorry, but every financial institution uses Chex Systems these days. If you can get in contact with the institution that reported you and take care of the debt and get something in writing stating that it has been cleared and take it to another institution show them the letter they should go ahead and open an account for you. It will take about 30 days for the report to be taken off of Chex Systems. Hope this helps.
