Which places serving alchohol expect much more out of employees than mixing drinks and customer service?
Which types of places or establishments in general serving alchohol require the most other work besides mixing drinks and serving them...such as mopping, wiping seats, making orange juice for three hours, cooking etc... Bars, restaurants, pubs, hotels, lounges, dance clubs, etc ? What are some more of these "other' duties ? Anyone ever been asked to do something way different than bartening such as clean a bathroom etc??? where was this?

If they did I wouldn't stay at that job too long. Its enough to keep the bar going and keep glasses clean. I didn't see Tom Cruise do any of that other stuff in "Cocktail"

Most establishments require that there bartend/wait staff contribute to the cleanliness of the place, some places hire cleaning staff that come in on off hours each day, but anything that must be done in order to have a clean establishment for the paying public, must be done by the staff there, whether it be the kitchen, serving or bartending staff...it is just part of the job, although not always the good part...but keeping your bar clean, no matter how you slice it, is part of the Bartender's job, whether it be cleaning the lamps, tables, chairs, workspace, bottles, etc...the list goes on and never stops and besides.....the customers LOVE to see you earn your keep!!
Oh, and a lot of places only have bartenders, so they are actually, cooks, cleaners, serves, pyscologists, lawyers, therapists..you name the hat and they wear it!!

My mother-in-law owns a bar. She only has 1 bartender working at any time. So they are required to clean and stock the restrooms and keep the entire building clean all the time. Most of the bars in my area are the same way. All employees take a hand in the dirty jobs.

When a person is out looking for a job,ask for a copy of the Job description before you take the job..Read all that will be expected of you then decide if that job is for you.Take a copy of it and do what you were hired to do..good question.

Not me! I tended bar at a private club for 6 years. We had janitors for that stuff! We didn't even have to stock coolers.
