If you need to ask that question, you obviously feel that you are lacking in some way. Maybe you need to take some extra time in the mornings before work and evenings after work for them. Maybe you could get their breakfast ready for them. That would take some of the pressure off of your partner and give her some more time for herself. Also gives you time with your children so that you can hear about their day plans. In the evenings take the time to help with homework, even if you still have some work to do for your job, just sitting with them and being close to them will help. Most of all LISTEN, and you must be doing that in order to come onto this yahoo answers to ask how you can be better. If your job is really demanding, just make sure that you set aside time for yourself, your partner and children. Little things add up to a lot. Be there for their soccer games if you say you are going to be there. Don't give empty promises. COMMUNICATE. I don't know what you are doing now, so I hope this will help you out a little bit anyway. Good luck.

Spend as much time with your kids, my husband works all day and he can't wait to get home and spend the time with the kids. Talk to your wife more or just sit and listen. Sometimes i only want my husband to listen to my stories of what went on during the day even if they are about my daughter doing something bad or yucky. But if you already do all of this then you really can't do much more. Your probably already a great dad and husband.

Be supportive in the household. I don't just mean because you work that is all you have to do. Help around the house, wash a load of clothes, clean a room in the house, play board games with your kid's. Things like that. I give you this advice, because I'm a mother and a wife and sometimes being a stay at home mom is not as easy as it looks. Buy your wife something nice to wear and take her out, like if it was your first date. Make her feel spacial. Take the kid's for one day so she can relax at home. Get my point?:)

Don't stop romancing your wife for starters. Kids tend to zap the fun out of marriage. Try not to let your life become routine. Help around the house. I'm not saying do everything for her, but certainly do your fair share. As far as the kids go, play with them, spend time with them, don't let the television be their parent or babysitter. I have a seven year old daughter, she knows that on Tuesday and Thursday nights after homework she gets to pick what we do. Games, dress up, etc. She also loves to go to the movies and skating. Bottom line, spend as much time with them as possible. Setting aside one night a week for you and your wife is great too. No kids, just the two of you, you don't always have to go anywhere. Nice bottle of wine, music or movie. You get the idea. Hopefully these work for you, I wish you luck.

Since you are a father, there is tons of things to do at the house. It is not what kind of things you do to surprise your family, it is your attitude.

Roll up your sleeves and get into actions, dishes in the sink, any laundry, grocery shopping, child's day care/school homework, the list goes on and on.

Just be an involved parent and your family will appreciate that.

Spend more quality time with your wife and kids. Make sure that you tell them that you love them on a regular basis. If your child has a activity try to be in attendance. Also give your wife some alone time, if she has been home with kids all week, let her go out by herself or with some friends over the weekend, have dinner ready and waiting for her when she gets home (no take-out).
