dying my own hair, and hair cut..which first?

I am going to get a hair cut next week. however, i'm gonna dye my own hair also. (i currently have med brown hair, long..mid back, and i plan on going darker).

which is better?...dye my own hair first or get a haircut first? why?

Dye then cut.. Always!

It's always better to dye it before cutting it. Ask any hair cutter, stylist, etc. It's to get rid of split ends, all that stuff that gets damaged from the chemicals.

I am a prof. hairstylist for many years now. If you are going to color it , do it first. That way the stylist will know how much to suggest cutting off. Better yet, have her do the whole job for you. It is more expensive, but not if you screw it up yourself and have to go in and get it fixed and get yet more hair cut off in the process. Just a suggestion.

Get your hair cut first and then dye it. If you dye it first, cutting it cuts off half the color source!

That way the most damaged hair (the ends) will be removed with the cutting

if you want a strong, and rich, vivid color-cut and then dye. if you want a more fainted-yet noticable dye then cut- but that will give you a layered apearance

die your hair first then deside what you want to do with it was the best choice for me..why.. beacouse if u get it cut first and then u might die it and u might not like the way it looks after its dyed...

cut your hair first, then color it!! cause you would just waste color on hair you're going to cut off.........
