Q.. what do you think will be the outcome in court will be, as its my first offence and my jod will go if i am charged,

Depends on why you were carrying it in the first place and what you were doing when you were caught with it. If you can prove it was for work use then you should be treated leniently but if say you were out on the town when you were caught then that will be hard to believe. If you were carrying it for other reasons then you deserve everything you get.

if you can proof you had a reasonable excuse for carrying it then you should be ok i take it you were charged with have on your possession an offensive weapon and not a bladed instrument your job as a gamekeeper should stand you in a good position to argue the case if you were either on your way to work or returning

i am assuming that you were pulled over maybe? and the pocket knife was found. Since it is a first offense, and as long as you didn't resist arrest, most likely i would think probation or community service.

if you can prove you need the knife to do your job it may help you to prove it wasn't to do naughty things with, but you probably knew that.
