because it would be admitting that he and his cronies have made mistakes, and are wrong about everything they have said and done.

A few others have answered this with a pretty good answer, but I feel that I must elaborate. For those of you out there who have no honor or respect for those of us who are doing our job, go find a rock to hide under. You're not worth protecting. For everyone else however, The reason why we fight... the reason why we volunteer for multiple tours in Iraq and surrounding areas, and the reason we love doing it is because we signed up to protect our country and the people that live in it. 99% of my friends, who are also military, have stated that they are happy to be there. Sure, we all miss home, but so does the kid down the street who's away at college.
To the statement of thousands of soldiers being killed... who are you to judge? 3,000 American Civilians were killed during 9/11. In 2005, there were 5,702 work related fatalities (military not included). These are all civilian numbers. All of us in the military signed up for a reason, and that was for Honor and the great feeling of knowing that we are doing something for our country besides sitting on our rears complaining about what's going on in the world. (Plus it's fun most of the time, just like any other job... plus the perks we get).
So unless you've put in your time in the military, don't complain about those that do. We know what we're doing, and we asked to do it. We should be asking you "What's YOUR problem?"

Our soldiers are not be killed by the thousands. THEY WANT TO BE THERE.
OF course everyone WANTS to come home but they want to accomplish the mission of regaining stability there first so that all there hard work and deaths were not for nothing!
What dont you poeple get about this, they have lost friends in the war, they have been wounded, they have fought bravely, and you are fighting to prove that it was all for nothing. Shame on you.
If the troops truly wanted to come home, Bush would bring them home, but we support the commander in chief's plans and untill we start revolting against him there is NO REASON FOR YOU TO.

So then your freedom isn't worth defending? I am sick of all of the poisoned minds that the liberal media has created in this country. I spent 10 years in the USMC and I fought for the rights that you take for grated every day.
It doesn't really matter if you like the war, it was going on long before we arrived in Iraq. The fundamentalist Muslims were at war with us and we didn't even know it. It took them committing a hideous act of cowardous terror on our own soil.
Quit whining! The problems have not been solved and if we bring the troops home right now we open ourselves to another September 11th. We are not fighting a traditional enemy.
I'm guessing you've never served your country. If I'm correct, then maybe you should keep your military opinions to yourself and thank God that there are people with the cojones that it takes to fight for your freedom.

our soldiers are getting killed by the thousands? Really? 3000 in 4 years is by the thousands?
More people get murdered in los angeles every year!
Stop the b.s. rhetoric. Are you suggesting we not defend our country because it would take a soldier away from his family?
It is not a civil war. The sunni and shiite are working together more and more every day.
If we leave iraq, the extremists will take over, due to the heavy funding of syria and iran, and will be a much larger problem in a few years.
WHY DON'T PEOPLE LIKE YOU LISTEN TO THE PRESIDENT WHEN HE TALKS? HE JUST EXPLAINED THIS TO YOU 2 MINUTES AGO!!!!!

Why ask that question here? Why not get off the pot and write the PRESIDENT with that question? HE has the answer, not us.
Our soldiers are NOT "getting killed by the thousands," Show your proof of 'BY THE THOUSANDS.'
That's quite an accusation to say that the Commander in Chief of the U.S. Armed Forces wants his troops to suffer.
Can you back that up with proof or do you always make unfounded accusations out of your hind parts?

I'll explain it in the terms of my business.
You sit down to get a tattoo and about half way through the tattoo the artist gets up and says he's leaving and you can come back in a couple of days to finish. Now getting a tattoo worked on a couple of days after you start it is almost twice as painful and it tough to start right where you left off not to mention you have a chance in pushing dead skin cells back into living flesh which could start hepatitis.
Are you going to let the artist take off and let you suffer or are you going to make him sit there and finish the job?

Because it's their job. Regardless of your political view of the war, the military is COMPLETELY VOLUNTEER, and it is a JOB. You do what your boss tells you.
Our soldiers are not getting killed by the thousands. ~3000 in 4 years is the lowest rate of casualties in war in recorded human history. In the same time ( 4 years) more than 160,000 have died meaningless deaths in car accidents. Why don't you beg for retreat from the US Highways? They are far more dangerous and hurt far more families than the war. What's your problem?

Congress and the senate don't care about winning the war.
Bush isn't the only one, the troops themselves want to be there. So I'd say that's good enough for me.
I mean, what do you think the military does? You feel bad for them for doing their job? Why should you feel sorry for them when they don't feel sorry for themselves? They are proud of the job they are doing.

I'm sick and tired of hearing people complain on the behalf of soldiers very few of us and are families are upset so why don't people worry about themselves. And going to Iraq doesn't ruin you financially at all.
