That's a difficult question to answer. Everyone is different. Some people's anxiety goes away on it's own with out taking meds or anything and other people have it all their lives. I have suffered from GAD (general anxiety disorder) for over 16 years now. I tried so hard to make it without meds but I just couldn't. My quality of life was terrible. I couldn't work, eat, sleep, or even get out of the house. I tried so many meds before I found something that worked for me. Some people take a more natural approach and use meditation, yoga, therapy, accupuncture, etc. I say do whatever it takes to make you feel better. Good luck.

I feel that you need to conquer things and give yourself a feeling of empowerment. You need to slowly and gently face the things that cause you anxiety by repeating the mantra "It's going to be fine, I've done this before and nothing bad happened". Feel the tension in your brow and relax it.

Visualization can help a lot and so can selectively relaxing muscles along with deep, slow breaths. If it gets real bad, try sitting for a sec and closing your eyes while relaxing whatever parts are tense. I believe that anxiety is developed over a long period of time and it will take a very long time to cure. Cardio exercise helps too, even just short jogs. Any sort of stress triggers a chemical reaction from your hypothalmus and those chemicals should be burnt up either by "fight or flight". Good Luck, I wish you well

Anxiety is a tough one to overcome. I've had anxiety since I was 5 yrs. Alot of years in misery. I go to Yoga and meditation every week and it help alot! Also I changed my diet big time. Trying to maintain anxiety isn't easy, but once you have power over it; through a few changes to your life style you should see a big improvement. Good Luck! PEACE

Trying to distance yourself from anyone, or anything that makes your anxious and if that is not possible, you will have to find out why your are anxious and study how to succeed over it....nothing is easy, and this may be a test of time, but determination, and/or the fact that it could lead to more anxiety or sickness if you ARE anxious and cannot remove your mind from it, may help in your recovery

Just remember 90% of what people worry and stress about will never happen anyway, so it's not worth the energy. It robs you of your happiness. You are in control of your emotions so keep your focus on the positive side of life.Peace be with you.
