you could do a search and look at the Staffordshire bull terrier resuce site or you could try the kennel club for reputable breeder and you will know then that all the health checks have been done, white one though I do beleive can have more health problems than most but I would contact the Staffordshire bull terrier resuce and they will give you all the information you need, they will not try a push a rescue on you if you really don't want one but they will give you all the advice you need as it is in their interest to do so because they don't want another dog in rescue, if you found out you couldn't cope one way or another.
http://www.staffords.co.uk
you could also join one of the yahoo groups for Staffordshire bull terrier there are a few about, they are very friendly and will give you loads of help and advice
good luck, but if you do get a pup please socialise, and take to obedience classes where you live will give you both great pleasue and a trained dog is a happy dog

As most people have said, try and get one from a rescue centre first (link below). They’re a very popular breed at the moment because of the image they purvey, and I’m sure there are many irresponsible owners that are buying them and then dumping them once the reality of dog ownership kicks in.
If you cant / won’t get one from a shelter, then you need to get in contact with one of the local breeders club. The link is below. Make sure they are a genuine breeder that is registered with the kennel club.
Please remember a dog is a long-term commitment. Think long and hard about getting one before you do. Also remember that all dogs are dangerous, and a Staffie has been bred to fight, so is very dangerous in the wrong hands. It is a banned breed in a number of countries in Europe, and was nearly banned through the whole of the EU (the Kennel club stepped in to prevent this). This means you must own the dog responsibly, which means training your puppy, so you can control it when you need to, and being responsible about keeping it on a lead and muzzled if necessary.
Finally, I think recent statistics show it was the most stolen breed in the county, so keep an eye on it, and don’t contribute to this by buying one from ‘a bloke you know down the pub’.
If you do decide to commit, good luck.

Send an email to the American Kennel Club on line and ask them for certified breeders in your area. They will refer you to verified breeders with good reputations. Do not buy a pup in a pet store, as many of their puppies come from puppy mills where the dogs get diseases and are interbred between brother and sister which weakens the breed. Also you could do a search on line for home breeders of a Staffordshire terrier and you may find a good one that way. I would try the AKC first. Also in your local newspaper there is a section where puppies are for sale by home breeders. If you do go that way, when you go to the home, if you see filth, dirt and a bad smell, run don't walk to you car and drive away.

If it's a pup you want, make sure you go through one of the many SBT breed clubs who can give you details of reputable breeders who do all the necesary health checks & breed for good temperament. If you want a white pup, make sure it has been tested for deafness before you buy.
Breed clubs are listed at the bottom of the page here:
http://www.thekennelclub.org.uk/item/87
Check out some of the sites to make sure you know what health checks SBTs need before being bred from.

Buy 1 from a good breeder but only if there are none needing homes in your local rescue centres.

Ring the RSPCA and ask where the nearest Staffie Rescue centre is. They have too many to save so you could help them both.

I have one for sale, he's not a pup he's 6months old but he's great and as hard as nails. You can have him for a £500. But I'd have to check out your home to make sure you weren't gonna be too soft on him.
