They do have levels of higherarchy which involve what would be considered unusual doctrines or practices. So does Scientology. You don't get into these levels until you have really "gotten into" the religion. There is a book entitled, Kingdom of the Cults which should be able to answer your questions, or the website listed below. Beware of any group that keeps things shrouded in darkness. Hidden agendas or practices are a sure sign of deception.

I'm glad you finally admitted it was under the robe and not naked with no cover...and who knows? I am going to guess most likely only God knows. I am not sure why it matters, no doctrine has changed, that didn't change the ordinance in any way, it shouldn't matter if we were painted red or wore a big hat or whatever, everything in the gospel is symbolic and sometimes things change when God wants them to. I know that part-way through the endowment session they used to sing a song and now they don't...what's the big deal?
We hold things sacred, things that are special...you apparently have never had anything sacred happen in your life or maybe you might understand. Why tell a person when they won't understand?

Your question implies a reference to sacred verses secret. Mormons perform rites or ordinances in their temples that are considered sacred. It is not secret as anyone can visit a temple before its dedication to the Lord and learn of how, why, and the particulars of the ordinances.

Mormons have been persecuted in the past for some of their beliefs. Such as Polygamy. This is still practiced, but not by mainstream LDS.
I am certain that whatever it is its special to them. My cousin got married in the mormon church and her mother wasnt even allowed in the place to watch the mormon ceremony. She had to wait outside until after for the "un mormon" part. Because that is a secret.
SUch a load of BULL.......

I don't know why Scientologists are. But, we have nothing to hide. The reason we don't talk about the temple is cause we don't throw our pearls to the swine.

I dont know.
from what i know scientologists prefer to keep their parctises secret so you have to buy in and they can make money.
Dont know about mormons. its makes sense that if they were persecuted at some point for their beliefs that they started keeping it a seret and now it just carried on.
Im just giving an opinion but i really dont know much about mormons...or is that now cos they so secretive?
ahhh well... i do think you should be able to invite any damn person you please to your wedding

No, we are secretive because idiots like you go around spreading false rumors and changing everything around if you find out what we do.
Actually, Kerry is right... GET OVER IT.

I don't think so.
Side note...
This question seems like a stretch for you to ask. Like you have ran out of questions to ask. I think you should move on to something else because it diminishes the effect of your questions in general.
Two adages that seem to apply here:
"Quality not quantity" or "More is not always better."
Unless you could care less about your question quality.
Just my two points...I mean cents.
