curly hair is gorgeous when properly taken care of (I have extremely straight and admire curly) anyways, get some anti frizz serum and never brush your hair...it will cause frizzing and will puff up ...... also find someone in your area that knows how to cut curly hair(not everyone can correctly)

I have curly hair, ringlets to be exact. I used to hate my curly hair because it was a frizzy mess. Now it is very well conditioned with minimal frizz and I love it. Keeping curly hair straight is an uphill battle. I suggest you visit www.naturallycurly.com. It is a website dedicated to wavy, curly and kinky hair. The whole site is great but go to the "curlmunity tab" then click on the "curl talk & trade" tab. It is a message board that you can talk to other curlies about straightening, product reviews, hair color and a whole lot more. Moreover, they all understand because they have curly hair too. I did not try to give you advice about products because I don't know your hair type, if it color treated or its condition. I hope this helps you. If you give more infomation, I can make some suggestion to you.

I too have naturally curly very thick hair. Two options- to get it straight- the Chi iorn is the way to go, as was said earlier. Done right, your hair will look like it was relaxed and last quite a while. just blow dry with narrow nozzel and round brush first.
to keep it nice and curly- use products from curve salon (I think the website is www.curve-salon.com). These products have been recommened in many websites and stars like Halle Berry have used them. I swear by them. They work on any curl texture be it loose riglets or kinky curls. Hope this helps!

Please don't listen to Molly D. Do not take chemically relaxing your hair into your own hands. I have naturally curly hair and I have always worn it curly. You should find a style that looks great on you, not someone else. I get tons of complements on my hair and am happy to be sporting something different. I think it would make you stand out in the crowd more. Be happy with what the lord gave you. You would be amazed by how many straight haired woman come up to me and tell me they wish they could get their hair to hold a curl.

My hair is curly and it has no weight. what I do when I want it straight is to use a product friom Rusk that is like a non permanent straightener and then I just use a sylicon based gloss. Dont touch your hair. Use the flat iron to finish it. Dont touch your hair. At night just roll the hair around your head with bobby pins. Use a cap to sleep. It wont last a week but at least two or three days.

I'm a guy but my good friend is a hairdresser and this is what I've learned. After you wash your hair you should blowdry it. Once it is completely dry, use a really good flat iron to straighten it. Also, use a little hair wax to control the frizz and prevent breakage. Since your hair is very curly, only wash it once every two or three days.

It probably is very time consuming but I'm sure it's all worth it in the end.

My hair is naturally curly- like Christina Milians, but I prefer it straight. My guy prefers it curly. I dont think they care as long as it looks good and the style works for you. If your hair is EXTREMELY thick like mine, you really need to set aside about 3 hours or more just to get it straight. First wash, condition (comb while conditioner is on to detangle) and let it towel dry about half way. Then take small sections and blow dry with a comb attacthment or with a blow dryer and a large round brush. The flat iron after all the hair is brow dryed. You may need to go to a salon first, just to get it doen, that way you'll have examples to work off of. Preferably go to a salon that specializes in your type of hair. If you live in/ near a large city, there should definately be hispanic salons/ black salons ect.. that deal with ethnic hair if that is your hair type.

Curly hair isn't a turn-off. Frizzy hair is a different matter.
You may be making it worse by trying too hard to straighten it. Better to have naturally curly hair than an unnatural-looking flat style.

Try having your hair chemically relaxed. I'm not sure how much it costs to have it done in a salon, but I know you can buy kits to do it yourself at home at like Wal-Mart or places like that. If your hair is really really curly, it may not straighten all the way, but it would make it a lot more manageable and you wouldn't have to spend as much time straightening it.

i am a curly-haired girl myself and i highly recommend leaving your hair curly!!! who cares what the latest style is?! do you know how often i get compliments on my hair? other girls envy girls with curly hair and guys seem to love it too. you get the best of both worlds- gorgeous curly hair all the time and straight hair when you want it. just be sure your curls are healthy and i guarantee no one will call you out on not having the latest style. hot is hot no matter what style it's in!
