I didn't realize it until I got home and opened them. Is it still safe to eat the ones that aren't moldy ?

Throw the moldy ones away and inspect the others. If you find that you have more moldy than fresh, take them back and get a replacement or a refund.

Take them back to the store and demand a refund. It's probably safe to eat the non-moldy ones if washed in soap and water, but I'd still make the store absorb that cost, and get a new container w/ them ALL fresh.

Kumquats are like oranges, except you eat the peel too. I wouldn't risk it - they harbor some bad bacteria, along with penicillium. You should NEVER store kumquats in anything. I am horrified that they were being sold in package. THey need air and space, or they will mold very quickly. Also, do not put in refrigerator. I would return them to the store and find one that knows how to package it's produce.

It might sound silly but return them to the store...they are required to take them back with your receipt and give you a whole fresh pint! You'll get what you paid for and not risk getting sick!
