I presume "jumbo" means extra large?
Soft boiled for extra large is 5 minutes.
Place the eggs in a pot and fill with water to just over an inch above the eggs [make sure your eggs are at room temperature] If the egg has been stored in the refrigerator it can be warmed gently under a flowing hot tap water.
Bring the water to a boil, remove from heat, cover tightly with a lid, and allow to remain in the water for 5 minutes.

Start with cold water. Place the eggs in cold water in a pan and bring to a boil. Once the water is boiling remove from heat and let eggs sit for about 3 to 4 minutes and then run under cold water to stop any further cooking. This will result in the perfectly soft boiled egg.

THREE minutes. Any idiot that tells you more time did not read your question. Soft boiled 3 minutes, hard boiled 8-10.
Jumbo or extra large, no difference in time. Good lord, who is the dummy that didn't ever hear of a jumbo egg? Where do these people live, under a rock?

soft-hard boil them
if they are large put them in a pan of cold- bring to boil and simmer for 5 and teh put immediately under cold water for as long as you can. so a hard boiled egg with a soft centre
FYI - putting hard boiled eggs under cold water as soon as you stop cooking them is how to make sure you don't get a black ring around the yoke.
and crack the shells of hard boiled eggs and soak in cold tea overnight for some marble effect on the whites

I haven't done it for awhile, but as I recall, I think soft boiled eggs are what they have called the "3 minute egg". So I think you boil them for 3 minutes. Take care.

After boiling for at least 8 minutes, the best way to know if eggs are fully cooked is placing an egg on your countertop and spin it like a bottle. If it spins fast enough, means its cooked, if it spins slow, it needs to be boiled a little longer.

Place them in cold water. Bring to the boil. Cook for 3 minutes. Spoon out and cool under cold water. Allow to sit for 3 minutes (NB Not on their side - standing in an egg cup or the carton). That is how I do Mine.

If you live in high altitude (Denver) you should boil them for about 5 minutes. At sea level, 3 minutes.
That's why they're called 3 minute eggs in some parts of the country.
