I'm trying to figure out which "Holy" book to read next.

I'm looking for one that has a lot of philosophy in it and not too many fairy tales.

Please read "Principia Discordia or How I Found Goddess and What I Did With Her After I Found Her" by Malaclypse the Younger. It is the Bible of the Discordian religion and is a must read for anyone who is interested in religion. It no only has philosophy but also quantum physics, history, mythology and humor.

i'm a Christian. to purpose and answer your question: To categorize all out of your reports with some is purely slightly a stretch there are various atheist that have been Christians and for despite the fact that their motives. have lost faith and want the place God is in touch. you are able to not and should no longer choose . in case you should ask questions and are judging others (which the Bible tells us to no longer do) maybe you should circulate lower back to the bible and relatively examine with an information that i do no longer come across on your submit. you will possibly be a Christian on your suggestions yet God additionally seem to the middle. he will seem there first. the main discovered bible scolars make it easier to be attentive to no person relatively 'knows the bible. They learn consistently and learn new issues on an frequently happening basis... Have tolerance for the flaws you are able to not substitute and stay 'your existence'. circulate away the ungodly and the 'atheist' for God to handle BTW devil knows the bible too. it particularly is how he gets maximum of souls.. God is Love Angel (sure that's my call)

The Bible is a great start.

But here is another one that I heard someone speak of earlier: "TRUTH IN TRANSLATION: ACCURACY AND BIAS IN ENGLISH TRANSLATIONS OF THE NEW TESTAMENT"
Author: Jason David BeDuhn is the Associate Professor of Religious Studies at Northern Arizona University in Flagstaff.

He seems to know his stuff. And he isn't biased towards any one Bible, but points out the particulars and which Bible is really accurately translated according to the original Greek scriptures.

Hope this helps!

Here's one that will not only be enlightening, but will save your soul from eternal damnation if you utilize its teachings:
THE HOLY WORD OF GOD AS ONLY CONTAINED IN THE HOLY SCRIPTURES... commonly called the BIBLE. I recommend starting with Jn 3:16. After that try a slice of
Rom 10:9-10. As your hunger for the word increases read the book of Jn in its entirety.
~GOD BLESS YOU AND LEAD YOU INTO ALL TRUTH~
