I have fibromyalgia, badly. I take Aleve once in the a.m. and once again at night. It really helps me with the pain. Also, I get up and walk around when the pain is totally severe. It seems that getting up, moving my legs really does help.........although, when I FIRST get up to walk, the pain is terrible.

First of all, I'm sorry you suffer from fibro. I have it too and it totally stinks. Unfortunately, it is comprised of many symptoms and you have to treat the symptoms accordingly. I started out with tylenol and motrin. Motrin was the only thing that worked for me. I was in a super high stress job and got to the point where I was taking 6 motrin every two hours to maintain the pain at a liveable level. It ended up giving me ulcers. If you can, try NORMAL doses of OTC meds, then if necessary, you might try a variety of muscle relaxers and/or eventually move up into narcotics. At this point, for me, I am being prescribed a most serious narcotic for pain, different ones for different pains.
Here are some things that help on a lower level. I've found that Excedrin Tension Relief helps better than any other OTC medicine. Also, there is a fabulous, I mean amazing product that I found as a sample at my natural foods store in town and ended up buying on line. It comes in a spray or wipe and is camphor based. It is from a company called swissmedica and I will include the link. Trust me, I have tried biofreeze which was okay and all the other products that are supposed to help topically but this stuff, you spray or rub it on and within minutes you feel better. It lasts a several hours. It is amazing and will at least temporarily take away the worst pain, even that annoying lower back pain. Good luck and if you want to email me for specifics please feel free. I'm including some good fibro links. Good Luck.

I've been making an attempt plenty of matters too. I've been ache with it for five years. The best matters that helped with the agony used to be antidepressants. I attempted Effexor and Paxil and did not just like the facet results. I additionally yet another one for a even as however I can not don't forget the title. It used to be Lex.... some thing. It labored k too and did not have as robust facet results. I'm no longer taking some thing now for the reason that I'm discovered to uncover the motive and the antidepressants masks the indications. I'm satisfied my fibro is thyroid /nerve comparable. I attempt to consume correct and take Magnesium, Vit C, B-problematic. The flare americafor me are worse within the iciness after a bloodless. Viruses can get into the thyroid I learned and motive irritation. The thyroid controls such a lot for your frame, cells, temperature, mind position, metabolism. I'd check out an moderate antidepressant with the least facet efforts. You don't want a top dose. Just the bottom they present. Anyway I desire you uncover alleviation. God Bless.

Yes, I am also. I sometimes take tylenol and sometimes it helps and sometimes it doesn't help. I agree with the walking/exercise. The moving actually does help me. I try to keep the body moving and the mind active.
My doctor also put me on an antidepressant (Nortriptyline) at bedtime. It promotes the deep sleep that is so needed with fibro. I do not take it often (although it is a scheduled every night drug). I just don't like medicine. But it does help with the pain, I think.
Good luck. I also think different times of the year--the pain is worse. My opinion.

I take nothing for my fibro because of all the drugs I take for RA. My sister, however, swears by Aleve. She says that 2 a day are all she needs, 12 hours apart. Taking one an hour before bedtime allows her to get an uninterrupted night's sleep.
Hope you feel better soon.
