What would you put into your survival kit? Or if you were a bridesmaid, what would you expect to find in it? I bought cute little pocket books for my girls...and I'm making them into little survival/emergency kits. Thought it would be a cute idea.

I have a little bit of an idea of what to put in them, went shopping at the dollar store yesterday and picked up some stuff: toothbrush, hairbrush, lip gloss, advil, mini manicure kit, mini sewing kit, some mints and some gum.

Can you think of anything else I can put in them? Am I missing anything?

Thanks for your help in advance!!

I had the most insanely anal retentive OCD emergency kit ever. Trust me, you will NOT need all of this, but to me it was cheap insurance.

Chalk -- cover up dark spots on gown
Club soda for small spills
Shout Wipes
White-out (white shoe scuffs)
Clear Nail Polish

Advil, Tylenol and Aspirin
Ankle wrap
Antihistamines / Allergy meds
Anti-Itch ointment
Band-Aids, Alcohol Pads & Neosporin
Gas-x & Immodium
Pepto Bismol (Pepcid)
Potassium pills (leg cramps)
Rubbing alcohol
Smelling salts
Styptic Pencil
Sudafed or cold medication

Baby powder & wipes
Body freshening spray or perfume
Deodorant (preferably clear)
Hand Sanitizer
Dental Floss
Mouthwash, Toothpaste & Toothbrush
Toothpicks
Panty Liners, pads, tampons
Q-Tips & Cotton Balls or squares
Soft cotton cloths
Tissues
Tweezers

Bobby Pins - Silver / Blond / Black
Curling iron
Hair Brush and Comb
Gel or mousse, Hair Spray
Hair pins & Rubber Bands
Hair Clip or scrunchie
Mini hairdryer

Glue: Eyelash & Nail
Face-Blotting Papers
Lip Gloss or Chapstick
Makeup kit -- duplicates of colors & brands
Nail Clippers & file
Nail Polish Remover Pads
Hand Lotion

Contact Lens solution & Case
Eye Drops (Visine)
Eyeglasses

Crackers, Power Bars, snacks & nuts
Breath Mints, hard candies and / or gum
Straws
Bottled water

Earring Backings
Lint Brush or Roller
Men’s dress socks
Non-skids for bottoms of shoes
Pantyhose in all sizes bride, BMs, and MOB
Slipper stoppers for insides of shoes
White slippers, or isotoners
Static Guard

Post its or a notepad/pencil or pen
Glue: white, crazy
Tape: masking, duct and clear
Small Ziploc Bags
Rubber Bands
Vendor list and Phone numbers

Sewing Kit: thread, buttons / eye & hook / needle, scissors, safety pins
Velcro tape

CD player and CDs for the dressing room
Flashlight
Lighter or matches
Spool of wire
Swiss Army knife
Batteries (camera, AA, AAA)
Spare Car Keys & AAA Card
Umbrella

Of these things, we used the sewing kit - a few groomsmen had loose buttons, the advil, bandaids, tape, baby wipes, deodorant, tissues, most of the hair stuff, all of the makeup, and the food.

One of the neatest things I had, which I used because my curls needed retouching, was a cordless curling iron. http://www.drugstore.com/products/prod.asp?pid=77381&catid=80575&trx=PLST-0-SEARCH&trxp1=80575&trxp2=77381&trxp3=1&trxp4=0&btrx=BUY-PLST-0-SEARCH

Now I keep it in my desk at work for quick touchups if I need them (like rainy days!)

Congratulations and Best of Luck to you and your husband-to-be. What an exciting time for you. May you be blessed in your marriage. I think it is a very nice idea to give your bridesmaids a wedding survival kit. It sounds to me like you have thought of just about everything. Maybe a pack of travel size tissues or a keepsake handkerchief would be a nice addition. You can buy cloth handkerchiefs at department stores that carry "mature" women's clothing such as JC Penney, Sears, or Macy's. If you don't have time for that, just some travel size tissues would be fine. Have a happy wedding day!

Here's a list of things I put in mine:

Small bottle of water (it doesnt' stain if spilled)
Package of crackers/cookies/candy bar/granola bar (each got what they would like)
breath mints
tylenol
bandaids
trial size hairbrush and hair spray
hand lotion
body spray (trial size from bath and body works) I have been to 11 weddings, in 10 of them the Bridesmaids forgot perfume.
napkin
kleenex
handwritten thank you card.

They all loved it.

Mine had all that and then some. I had in addition to all that, lipstick, tweezers, eyeliner, nail clippers, extra pins and rubber bands for hair, and a disposable camera for those priceless shots getting ready that your photographer will miss.

FYI I would stay away from the gum if I were you. If it somehow ends up on the floor it will destroy dresses and silk/satin shoes.

You are on a great start. I would include a bottle of clear nail polish (in case someones stockings run), tide pen, mascara, feminine product (i know that seems strange but you can never be TOO prepared for the unexpected), q-tips, Sprite (to help calm a nervous stomach), those little packs of tissue and maybe a few snacks (in case they forget to eat)

Also dont forget to write a little note to add to each bag thanking them for being a part of your special day. It is a nice extra touch that will mean the world!

Good luck for Friday first of all. In my little handbag (I was the bride!) I had full range of makeup that I might need, painkillers, nailfile, sewing kit, plasters, hanky/tissues, makeup remover wipes, spare stockings, mints and gum. I think it's sweet you are doing this for them. How about adding a disposable camera for them? Don't forget an emergency kit for you too!

It sounds like you've thought of almost everything...the only other thing I can think of would be an extra pair of panty hose if they are wearing them and possibly some clear nail polish for runs..oh, and tiny safety pins and hair pins for stray hairs if they are going to have up-dos. What a great idea and very sweet gesture! Congratulations....I'm sure it'll be a perfect day!

Eyeglass repair kit. Bandaids. A small mirror. A pair of nylons. A click-pencil full of lead and a little notebook for taking notes. A few safety pins.

clear nailpolish for those snags in pantyhose, bobby pins, saftey pins, hairspray, vaseline, ring cleaner for people who are wearing wedding or engagment rings in your bridal party. have them clean their rings on friday, that way they shine! also, bright a curling iron and some shout wipes and a fake nail kit if someone breaks one of their acrylic nails (if you are having them get their nails done!). Good luck Friday and God Bless your wedding!
