With my family--Too many.I would go with 3 # each and then you have the corn, potatoes and other foods you boil them with. You know there is very little tail meat in them.Put some real good sausage in the boil, they will fill up on that too.Let me know when it is,I'm inviting myself...Happy Eating.

Well, I ate 2.5 lbs of crawfish last night and I was still hungry. But like the others said if you have corn, potatoes, sausages, etc, then I would at least buy 50-75 lbs, but no less than 50. Plus if people are drinking, they tend to eat a little more (unless they don't want to lose their buzz) Obviously, adults will eat more than kids, so you could take that in account. It's always better to have more, you can always give out the leftovers or save the rest for recipes.

Well when we have boiled crawfish my boyfriend and I can eat 6lbs together. So thats 3 each but you do have to keep in mind that at most restaurants that's with the corn, and potatoes and sometimes sausage cooked with it. It depends if your making a meal out of it or hanging out for a while drinking beer.

You need 2 lbs of crawfish per person for an entree. 1# of that will be shells.

I would try to have enough for everyone... some will eat more then others, and some won't have any at all so as a safe rule of thumb I would do 2 pounds per person. It is the worst to not have enough food and that would be more then enough, but just enough at the same time. Have fun!

I would say about a half of a pound per person, so that would be 12 and a half pounds should work unless you have some really big eaters coming.

If you are doing a boil with corn, potatoes sausage or other seafood 1/2 lb per person. If you just doing crawdaddies then 1 lb per person is plenty.

For live or boiled whole crawfish:
If you're in La and they know how to eat them, about 4 lbs. per person. If you are out of La. and not very many will know how to eat them, I wouldn't get over 1 lb. per person.
