And you'd need a bit broader cover than that combination.
If you are stuck and don't have a surgeon, then you might just have to cross your fingers and pray. Usually antibiotics in appendicitis can dampen things down early enough, but you may well wind up with an appendiceal abscess - this can give ongoing troubles until it is operated on and drained properly.
If you've got nothing else - antibiotics are better than nothing. For preference use ampicillin combined with metronidazole and gentamicin.
In metro USA and UK where ampicillin is pretty much useless these days, use a 3rd or 4th gen cephalosporin. Ceftriaxone or Cefuroxime + Metronidazole ought to do.
If you haven't got any of that, Ampicillin, your sulfa drugs and a good dose of prayer.
Get a surgeon.

Appendicitis usually needs to be "healed" by removal of the appendix. I suppose a trial might not be a bad idea if it can be verified by urinalysis and blood work that the appendicitis is caused by a great deal of bacteria. It would be better than surgery, unless appendicitis is recurrent

Nope. The appendicitis problem is due to a 'clogging' of the duct that allows the Appendix to excrete the fluid (bile) it creates. Once this happens the only way to solve the problem is to take it out.
I had my removed for my birthday in 2001. It was a painful experience prior to the surgery. Unfortunately for me the removal of my appendix couldn't be done 'orthoscopically' and they had to 'slice' me open. This made my recovery a bit longer and more painful. However, with out it, I would be dead.

No; you might be able to delay the rupture, but once it's infected, sooner or later, the appendix is going to go.
As to the person above me - the appendix doesn't create bile, or excrete it; bile is created by the liver, stored in the gall bladder, and transferred to the digestive tract by the bile ducts.

Never, but removal is the only way.
