see i have been talking to this guy and he has always been honest with me. thats something i'm not use to. forexample i set up another email address and sent him an email pretending to be another girl interested in him. well he told me about the girl emailing him and what he said. i was shocked that he would actually do that. he doesn't know that i am the other girl who emailed him. how many guys out there would be that honest and tell there girl when someother girl likes them or emails them? i dont know of many who would. my ex's wouldn't.

He sounds like a great guy! Why are you in doubts? A guy who is actually honest with you is a rare commodity these days and you should definitely hold on to him.

To answer your question. Naturally, I would prefer a guy who is honest, but I can understand that dating a "white-liar" would be more interesting cos you'd always be wondering what comes next. But the thing is that guys will, like any other human being, once they see that they can get away with it, start escalating things. In other words, they will start lying more and more! So, that initial excitement amounts to diminished trust and soon you will start doubting if anything he says is true. This diminishes trust in a relationship and eventually causes it to fail. Of course, I would prefer a guy who says: "You look great today!" even if you don't, but this little thing is not worth ruining something as sacred as trust.

So, keep him and stop having doubts!

Everybody lies or covers the truth a little. Depends on what types of lies he's telling. Like for example, telling you that you're not fat but you know good and well your jeans dont fit like they used to. Or when a guy say "I didnt hear my phone ring or I was out with the guys" Well, we know he saw the number on the caller Id. but at the same time, mabye he just needed a little space from you and theres nothing wrong with that. So it depends on the extent of the lie. Catch my drift?

I know exactly what you mean. A little honesty is refreshing. I think it's good for him to be honest, even if we don't really want to know certain things, like what girl he was hanging out with who like him. I'm kinda like, well if I know he wouldn't do anything with anyone, then he shouldn't have to tell me all this little stuff it will only drive me crazy! haha

i mean do we really want a guy to be "brutally honest"? going back to the "does this make me look fat" question, which by the way we should never ask anyways...

I'm not a girl, but I would imagine the old saying honesty is the best policy. It's sad to see that 50% of all marriages end in divorce. If you're married, why would you want to lie at all unless it's one of those funny stories that keep a group laughing or done in jest.

Most guys who I would consider honest would not even do that. I'd stick with it. You know you can always count on him to do the right thing, even if it does trip you out a little bit. You'll get over that.

yea i think one can lie a little bit. bcoz some time the sititutions are like that a little bit lies become more benificial rather the honest views. so little bit lies is far better then pure honesty but it should have must a certian limit.

honesty is the best policy. However regarding the email you sent to him...he probably suspected it was you and decided to tell you about it. Now, it is your turn to be honest with him and let him know it was you.

he sounds like a keeper. guys like that are hard to find and when you do find that very rare type of guy then you need to keep him. i would much rather have a guy who was honest all the time opposed to a guy who lied a little bit

Why are you concerned? An honest guy is a good thing. You always know where you stand with your relationship! Enjoy your time with him, knowing that he's not using you!
