I had a cable box descrambler and it just crapped. I heard you can make them yourselves and I have a couple of old cable boxes I can screw around with. Does anyone know how to do this. Yes this is perfectly legal and my cable company knows that I used my last cable descrambler. These are also called hot boxes.

When I was a kid I ordered one of those "How to build a Cable Descrambler for under 20 bucks" gimmicks out of a magazine. I went to Radio Shack and bought all the parts EXCEPT one. The one part that I needed could not be found any where!!! It was something that controlled the pieferrence.. (probably spelled that wrong)... lol. You can google what you just asked and more then likely find a dozen places that will sell you the plans to build one, but believe me... Its a scam. It would cost much more then 20 bucks to build a cable descrambler.
