my grandma died a year ago and i was left a third. i did recieve a copy of the trust but need to also get a copy of the will. how do i go about that and how much will it cost me? she lived in southern california

First, call the county recorder's office and see if it was recorded. If so, you can obtain a copy from them for a small fee. Also, try her attorney's office, they are required to keep a copy in her file for at least 10 years. CHEERS!

You can have a paralegal service get it from the court (I'm assuming it was entered into probate.) Actually, you could go to the court with the case number if you have it and get it yourself and save the fee, although there is a copying fee and a certification fee for the court. Find a service in your area and call and ask how much it will cost.

If you know at which registrar office that will has been executed then you can go to that Office and tell your grandmas name and address and they would be able to give you a copy of the Will provided if it is registered. If it is not registered then sorry you can get it only from the people who hold it.

go to the courthouse of that county and look in the misc records dept. some one there will show you how. its usual free, but some charge a buck or so for the copy.
