My husband treated his with Vicks Vapor Rub. You rub it on twice a day and it kills the nail fungus that causes your nails to be thick and brittle.

Sounds like nail fungus which is very difficult to treat. You can purchase OTC treatments but they really don't work well at all. There are two prescriptions you can use, one for Penlac nail polish that takes awhile but can work or by taking oral medication but you have to have liver studies done first. Meantime both are expensive, the longer you wait the harder it will be to cure to check to see what your health insurance might do.

i'm not sure why .. ? but i'll try. i think you may be referring to too hard to cut easily. if so then you need to soak them in a little tub of water with dish soap in it, then cut while still soft. or after a nice long bath, again cut while still soft. if indeed you have a problem you need to see a doctor. good luck with that. :)
