After efiling, it took mine exactly two weeks.
(I efiled on a Friday and the deposit was made in

Auto-deposits are made on Fridays by the way.

If you filed electronically it will depend on which day of the week you filed on and which IRS Center you used. The refunds are released once a week so if you missed that by one day your refund will take 6 days more than if you had filed it the day before the day the IRS releases funds. Depending on how you filed there could be a bank in the middle of that process that will take another two days to process the refund. Normally it takes 8 to 15 days from filing if there were no problems with the acknowledgment.

Electronically filed returns with direct deposit always have the fastest rate of return. However, they are also affected by the volume of returns being processed. Anyone and everyone that owes the government money will wait as long as possible before paying it, so the later your return is filed the greater the time will be before it is processed. I had both returns within a few weeks when I filed at the beginning of February...

If you e-filed and asked for electronic deposit it would take about seven days. If you paper filed your return it will happen about ten days or thereabouts after your return is received and processed into the system. Early in the season it happens fairly quick but as the tax season rolls on the number of returns received becomes greater and the time lag increases.
