March 14th my daughter awoke vomiting and did 3 times. But, it was minimal and didn't smell like "sick" vomit. 4 hours later she seemed perfectly fine. On the 19th she had a rash covering her belly, upper thighs and underarms. It was a solid red rash. It dissappeared within an hour. Many nights since the 14th she'll awake and feel like she's going to be sick but doesn't vomit. Occassionally during the day she feels the same. She sat with her head in a bucket for a half hour the other day. I felt so sorry for her! I called the dr's office 4 days ago and they said it's a virus. She acts perfectly fine most of the time. Thinking back I know that my daughter has had moments where out of the clear blue she'll yell out... I'm sick. She'll vomit and then she's perfectly fine. That's happened about 3 times since she's been 1. Until now where it seems very consistant. Has this happened to your child? What could be wrong? Thanks!

Judgemental people always seem to surprise me. I took her to the doctor before when she had trouble. It's worse now and I've called in. They don't seem to be worried. But I am. Would it really do any good to take her in at this point? If they're just going to tell me it's a virus and send me home....?

When you have a virus ... medications such as antibiotics do absolutely no good. If it is a virus ... they'd have no medication to give to her.

First of all I am sorry a lot of the people here are giving you a hard time and not really helping. I can tell you that as a teenager I had the same thing happen to me often. And thru different periods in my life it kept happening. Even until now from time to time I just get sick. After a million tests and an gastroendoscopy, the doctors decided it was stress related. You see when you get too stress or worried you might make yourself sick without knowing it, is like a way to release tension, it is not done on purpose. Also a person like that is much more sensitive to certain types of food, like lactose. Try giving her also something warm to drink when she eats, cold drinks can make you sick too when you are eating. And finally yes there is a virus going around too. So good luck and hope this helps.

Once you actually bring her to a real live doctor, if they can't identify any type of virus, consider these things:
It may be stress. Even young children have stress that manifests itself in various ways. Stress can also cause hives.
When my dad was a kid he would get sick everyday before school, and when I was a child the thought of school would make me feel ill.
I also knew a girl that went away to college that started having stomach problems and was hospitalized on a few occasions, but the doctors didn't know what was wrong with her. Her mother thought it was because her dad had passed away the year before and she was going through so many changes at once. She eventually got over the problem but no doctor could ever give a specific diagnosis.
Your daughters problem may also be caused by an allergy. All alergies don't involve itchy eyes and a runny nose. Sometimes your body fights an allergy so strong that it can poison itself. Many people have been hospitalized because their bodies have poisoned themselves fighting an allergy.
The south eastern part of the U.S. is having there worst pollen season ever. (Do you even live in the U.S.?)
Your daughter may be allergic to a food additive or preservative. These types of allergies can cause nausea and rashes. When I was 3-5 years old I was allergic to various additives and preservatives but I grew out of them. People can develop allergies that sometimes start small and get worse and sometimes allergies disappear like they were never there.
Since I'm by no means a doctor, you shouldn't rely on anything I tell you as the source of your daughters problem. I just thought I'd drop you a line and give you a few ideas, and if a doctor can't find anything specificly wrong, such as a virus, maybe you can discuss these possibilities and see what they say.
I hope everything gets better. I'm sure it will.

my sun is just getting over the roto virus and everytime i went to the docotors or er they sent me home because he was seeming fine. but the virus causes dehydration which is very serious. i think that she should be taken to the doctors to make sure if she is young especially. but i would keep giving clear liquids and stuff like that. if she seems fine most of the time it probably is just a mild case of the virus, but it doesnt hurt to bug the doctors for some reassurance, especially since the virus is going around alot right now.

There is a big difference between taking her to the doctor and speaking to one on the phone. Further more if the doctor you spoke to said "It's a virus" he should have also said "Let's get her in here so we can take care of it. Is Thursday morning a good time for her appointment".
Sounds like you're not telling all that needs to be told in this situation. If you're concerned about her health, take her to the doctor's office not the Yahoo web forum.
If it is a virus she will need medical treatment. If it is not then you'll need to figure out what is the cause. Possibly something she is ingesting in to her system is causing the problem. Monitor what she eats and drinks to see if its food related. Detergents, shampoos, skin conditioners, etc etc can also cause these symptoms.
Or it could all be psychosomatic in which case you're going to need to find the source of her mental issues and have them resolved.
Long story short you're barking up the wrong tree for the answers you need. Seek a medical professional who can examine your daughter for the underlying cause of her symptoms.

I agree with what one person said, take her to the emergency room. You know how your daughter feels. It could still be a virus and there really isn't much they can do about it. This past year has been horrible for my family too, we have never been so sick. Good luck and I hope she feels better.

Take her to the dr and insist that you know it is NOT a virus. You need to give them all the details. Better yet, Id take her to an emergency room where they have all the equipment to do further testing. Good luck!

You need to take her to a doctor and get that checked out. If it has been going on for a long time it could possibly be something very serious. I hope she is well. God Bless!

She's probably being made nauseous by your long winded, rambling questions. God bless that little trooper having to put up with a blabbering parent like you.
