your cd player has in simple terms an eye in which reads the coding on the cd...each eye are only programmed to read certain formats some players won't play burned disc at all, if your trying to play mp3's then unless it says mp3 on it, the player won't play those disc...also it could be from excess use and the eye has developed spme dirt on it..this will cause you to have errors, you can simply try a cd player cleaning disc ..but ask someone in the audio dept if you can use it on front disc loading, because some will not work on them, if that doesn't work then your eye is shot and you will need a new radio..just so you know you will need a filler kit because the hole for the radio is to big and also since you have a nissan you will need an atenna adapter..my friend has a pathfinder and jus upgraded to an aftermarket radio..and also brands that sound really good on the stock speakers is pioneer, kenwood and alpine...hope this helpful

First, attempt playing a on a daily basis, save offered CD quite of one you'll have downloaded and made your self. an outstanding form of cases the formatting used on those isn't properly proper. If the CD nonetheless received't play, attempt a CD lens cleanser kit as you'll have construct-up on the laser eye. If not one of the above works, you in all probability opt for a sparkling CD participant. Professionally talking, i could seem into both Pioneer or Alpine as they grant a number of the perfect efficient factors for the fee.

Buy a new one. Head units are cheap and factory equipment in a 97 Nissan is junk.

I could be a number of problems. It could be a shortage in the wires or the scanner could be dirty. You can easily get a new one for around $100.
