In the engagement announcement, I have rarely seen it where the jobs are mentioned. In the wedding announcement, feel free to omit whatever you would like. Ours was very short and to the point. We didn't even list our bridesmaids and groomsmen, just the matron of honor and the best man! Below is a link to my engagement announcement *short and sweet*

Is this an engagement announcement or your wedding announcement?
If engagement, they usually do put your employment status not your living arrangements. Bu to omit your employment is fine word it like this
Mr and Mrs John Smith of anytown proudly announce the engament of their daughter, Jane, to Henry Jones, son of Mr and mrs Harry Jones of This town. A June wedding is planned.
You dont have to get into the details of your private lives if you dont want to.
If its a marriage announcment, you dont include anything about employment, but they usually put the town you will reside in at the end. Wording is like this
Mr and Mrs John Smith, of anytown, joyfully announce the marriage of their daughter to Henry Jones of This town on June 16. The bride wore Ivory satin and was surrounded by 4 bridesmaids wearing pale blue. The bride and attendants carry white roses hand tied with pale blue ribbon. The groom and his attendants wore traditional black tuxedos with black vest and tie and wore white rose bougtineers. After a family celebration held at the Mrriott hotel in This town, the couple honeymooned in Tahiti. They will reside in this town.
The wedding annoucement is a descption of the wedding mainly and can be as detailed as you would like.
Good luck!

You're the only one who cares. Forget worrying about what people might think of you. Just announce that you are getting married.

Why not just leave out employment and just say where you guys went to school? I just wrote up my ad for the same thing and I noticed that people do their own variations. I'm sure it will be fine! Congratulations!

Whether or not you have a job won't make you look bad, but your spelling skills sure will. Make sure you use the spell check feature before submitting your announcement.

No, you don't have to put any of that. But if you decide to leave off your employment, leave hers off too. Really, it isn't anyone's business anyway.
