If you dispute an item on your credit report and the credit bureaus find that there is an error, they have 30 days to correct the error and send you an updated (& free) credit report showing that things have been corrected.
Even if you dispute something and they cannot prove that it's yours, the same rule still applies. They have to take it off and show you that it's been removed.

If they dont respond within 30 days (or maybe 45 days) to the Credit Bureaus, it must be removed by law.
