Seriously,Non medical field is better.
TOP TEN REASONS:
1. You will be paid a lot more than a doctor and with so much less working hours
2. By the time a doctor starts earning a good livelihood, he is losing his physical and mental strength
3. You always have the option of going abroad, and you donot have to clear any licensing exams there
4.You can happily enjoy a city life, while everyone wants doctors to serve in the most backward areas of country.
5. You can end your study at graduation (BE, BTech) while MBBS is just the starting
6. You rarely have to worry about medicolegal problems, negligence cases etc
7. You can happily complete your course even if you have been a little lazy, but if you are a medico, you have to be a book worm
8.You can give quality time to your family.
9. You will have plenty of social relationships and not the only doctor-patient relationship
10. Earlier they use to say 'Doctors' is a noble profession' and there was a lot of respect. But now, there seems no nobility in this, and nobody respects you(doctor) instead you are always on the attack even if the complication is a natural one and it wasn't your fault

I personally think that medicine should reward people with personal satisfaction, more so than the cash. Those who get into the field purely for the dough aren't deserving and will end up disrespected by their colleagues and hated by their patients. It's not the money, it should never be for the money. I have to say, my GP is terrible. He sits on his bum all day reading a newspaper, waiting for ambulant patients to knock on his door... exhibiting signs of a cold... a bit of sore throat... hmmm? Whips out the prescription booklet and jots down "Amoxycillin"... But if Mrs. A has something mildly exotic, he'll just refer her to a specialist and that's the end of that... Or... Mr. B brings along his CXR, Dr. C decides to skip the x-ray and scans the report... hmm... what happened to basic image interpretation of chest pathology? He exhibits no talent in the doctor-patient relationship department... actually resembles brick wall... nothing penetrates the wall, all audible sound resonates outwards or is completely reflected...

If the Democrats get socialized medicine through, stay out of medicine. Doctors will be scarce, too.

your question has 3 possible meanings :
1.medical or non-medical
2. meditatation or non-meditation
3. medicine or non/no medicine
if you mean no.1.,the answer is entirely based upon :
--your own interest
--your family/friends/peers interest/field
--your own instinct about what you can do better
--your liking and economic considerations.
