If you're going to stay in a 4 star hotel, then they likely will have kettles/hot water sources available. If this is not the case, then you can walk into any one of Israel's many cafes and ask for a glass of boiling water. Anyhow, tea in Israeli cafes is usually quite inexpensive and shouldn't cost you more than 1pound, 25 pence.
I would recommend 5 star hotels in Israel. The hotel rating system is really screwy and tends to overrate hotels. For instance, a 3 star hotel in Israel is more or less equivalent to a 0-1 star hotel in the UK or US. 5 star hotels in Israel shouldn't set you back more than 100 pounds (and you can probably get a 5 star hotel room for less than 60 pounds). Aside from the usual international chains (Hilton, Sheraton, InterContinental, and so on), there is an excellent local chain of hotels called 'Dan' that operate all over Israel.

you are going 4 star and need a kettle which company you going with a camel caravan, israel has some of the best hotels in the world, and is a very modern country. may be your tour guide needs an electric kettle, loads of modern supperstores there, i only wish Egypt was as modern as Israel. there are 10 or more superstores just in the Yarkon area outside of tel aviv to start, where you can buy your kettle if needed.and tea coffee buiscuits phone for a domino pizza
macs with free tea most of the roadside cafs have free tea with a berger or falafel. and you do not need to worry about upset tumms there either,

Many hotels outside of the UK, even 4* and 5* do not offer drinks in the room apart from minibar, so if you want a cuppa in comfort, take a travel kettle!

You will have a great time - I am jealous of you!!
When I went I used the Lonely Planet guide - I would take a kettle for peace of mind - but they should have one in the room or get one for you.
Have fun!

I guess you have to trust your guide. It is unusual for a 4* hotel not to provide in-room hot beverage makers. However, they may not be international hotels but very good local places. If they are local, you're probably in for a much more enriched experience.

You don't want a kettle - you want a new tour guide that knows what he's talking about.

A lot of US based International Hotels even 4-star ones value the swimming pool and the minibar over tea and coffee making materials in your room. It's as true in Israel as it is in the States or Germany.

i respect mine - that is soooo obtainable once you opt for a cup of tea... they're really no longer very intense priced so that's a a no-brainer for me - in case you do not have one - get one! also, in case you warmth tea water interior the microwave I consistently sense it is going chilly a lot quicker than in case you boil it interior the kettle. yet i'm also easily one of those those that sip my cups of tea for a at the same time as so i opt for them to stay warmth see you later as achieveable =)

if the Israelis are as bad hosts as they are travellers do what your guide said otherwise just pay for it
(as a tour guide i would refuse to take Israeli guests nothing to do with religion just they are a real pain in the *** for the same reason the french)
Give you a guide I had one customer that went to a restaurant in Thailand and asked for water that was not from the fridge then asked if he could get a discount as it was warm it only cost twenty pence anyway and then made such a fuss that he should have a discount
