Some eczema's are a symptom of a leaky gut, which is why certain foods can trigger a break out.

Also most commercial detergents, shampoos and soaps etc exacerbate the problem.

Try using ecover or natural alternatives for the above products.

We have used probiotics for eczema, with superb results.

Start with one a day, then after 2 weeks if no major improvement up the dosage to 2-3. Once you have the skin back to normal, take a maintenance dosage of one tablet a day

The best probiotic we found was primadophilus reuteri or bifidus.

Try and go as organic as possible in what you eat and use on you skin, and always wash new clothing, that has been our recent culprit.

Good luck!

As the others say there is not cure although with time and natural body changes the complaint may ease. Trying to find what triggers the eczema to break out is the best way forward - prevention rather than cure and all that.... However when you do have a breakout try and keep the skin a supple as possible using products such as E45 or aqueous creams. Try and avoid hydrocortisones if you possibly can as they do thin the skin over time making it papery. I found that Evening Primrose Oil worked wonders for me. It contains an enzyme which is crucial for healthy skin. Many people who have skin complaints are not able to process this enzyme from their food and need a ready made source which EPO offers. Star flower oil is supposed to be even better. And of course these are natuaral. Antihistamines do tend to take away the itch but not the eczema. They can make you drowsy as well - even the non-drowsy ones. This may be useful at night though.
Good luck

Eczema is invariably caused by toxins in the body. People's bodies have different ways of dealing with these toxins, and eczema is one way. Because eczema is a symptom of an underlying problem, it is a bad idea to pile medicated creams onto your skin to get rid of it. What is usually recommended is to cut out everything that contributes to a build up of toxins in your system for two months (dairy, stimulants such as tea, coffe or chocolate, wheat, sugar, alcohol, cigarettes, fats and anything else you can think of). If two months seems too long, try eating brown rice at the same time to speed up the release of the toxins. After this point you can reintroduce all the things you feel you really can't do without. It should clear up things.
Chinese herbalists usually work pretty well as well.

No cure just treatment! It's usually trial and error as to which gives the best relief and anti-histamines only work on the type of eczema that causes itchiness or is an allergic reaction to something!

I think you need to find a product to help you -
and I think if you are scratching the antihistamine may help.

I have a friend she has eczema and has tried using Arbonne's shower gel, and body cream and will tell you her skin has never been softer or better - it's pure and natural.

Does your doctor have good advice or see a specialist if you can, (and nothing works)!
