I'm looking for a high quality sharp trimmer to achive the above objectives.

Only thing is, i can't get the what is widely recognized as the best. 'The Andis T outliner' (Live in the UK).

I'm currently thinking about the Oster T finisher........

Any suggestions?

I think it depends on the blade and the motor of the trimmers. I have both the Andis T outliner and Oster T finisher, and both work equally well for me. I have experienced a Andis T outliner with a bad motor and a dull blade. I went to a cutlery store and they sharpened the blade for me and replaced the motor. Now both pair work just fine.

I currently use the Oster T finisher and I love it. I've been doing hair for 11 years, and my first one lasted for 10. I just bought the same one again not long ago. I've tried co-workers trimmers, but the Oster is far better in my opinion. With proper care, they can last a long time.

That Andis one certainly is the best, I have it myself. Have you considered buying one from ebay? I bought a replacement blade for mine on their and have had no problems. Good Luck!
