Well it just means that you always have options. Even if you initially think it's bad, another proverbial door opens to a new opportunity. It's an optimistic way of looking at things. Say you get fired from your job you first think it's a bad thing, but maybe you meet the love of your life when you start a new job. Things like that, it's like seeing the silver lining.

The door refers to opportunity. When one opportunity closes, and it fully no longer an option, don't loose heart and hang your head, keep watching for the next door to open and realize that it is an opportunity.
