I have always suspect that the only thing we humans do entirely on our own is to die. It must be the loneliest thing we do, no one else can do that with us.

Woman have asked that everyday for six thousand years. I am still asking, but not God. I want to know why men has trampled all over woman - religious wise, while worshipping their all male entity? How much female blood has been spilled in behalf of this malegod? Would it come up to a horses shoulder in a river two miles wide? What is the war of the ages? What is the underlying conflict?

Why not just accept his fate as the will of God?
PLEASE, watch the movie Passion of Christ and think what lenght He went for saving your soul. He KNOWS a lot about the suffering and He did what He came to do. When He was here, He was in human form. He felt the pain.
Easter is coming and I might be a little bit more sensitive to stupid questions like this. I apologize if I come across rude. : )

Jesus had to have faith. He didn't have what is referred to as 'gnosis' on everything. He had to trust God the Father through the power of the Spirit to raise Him. He was commiting a purposful prophecy that can be found in a Psalm,
Psalm 22:1 My God, my God, why have you forsaken me?
Why are you so far from saving me,
so far from the words of my groaning?
I believe that he did it ceremoniously. Even as he was dying.

God also knew where Adam and Eve were in the Garden, He asked them for their own sake. Christ made the statement for the sake of humanity and again to let those around Him the true suffering He was going through.
It is said by theologians that He said this because to be fully human he had to experience pain and death fully, the statement being made due to fully succuming to pain and death on the cross.
God bless you always, thanks for the opportunity to spread the Gospel of faith.

Its because, at that moment, God had to turn away from Jesus for him to accept all the sins of the world and bore the pain from everyone.

Ever wonder is Jesus is God .
Or was it an analogy of a man called Jesus communicating with God in planet of apes?
Ever wonder how the mess was created with blunders and slip-ups with human errors with misinterpretation, miscommunication, communication failures and communication break-down in planet of apes?

It also tells us in scriptures that the human mind is very limited in what it can process, and to be a human man, even if only briefly, would make him subservient to his human survival instincts. If you think about it, he is begging to be spared his fate (so he obviously does know what it is). I would beg for my life too if i knew i was in for the worst beating and torture and then i was going to be crucified! It is also important to note that Jesus' coming here was to better understand the human life, mind, heart, passions, fears, etc... not just to die for the redemption of sin. I think he wanted to live and continue helping people, but he knew that his time was short so he begged for life.

I love to answer this question,
Jesus was not crying out in despair that God had forsaken him .rather he was reciting a psalm of David that actually is a prophecy of his crucifixion written( 500 years? )before the Romans brought Crucifixion to Jerusalem read psalm 22 in its entirity, you will see that by reciting this psalm he was calling to notice that he was the fullfillment of that psalms prophecy.

Jesus done the will of God knowing that it was necessary to do this, although, the human body that he was trap in temporarily wasn't able to bare the pain. The body is weak, and the spirit is strong.

Okay, would you want to be nailed to a block of wood for eight hours?
No?
There's your answer. Jesus was Human, you know, so he would have had that whole "pain is bad" complex going on. As divine as he was, even though he knew it would happen, it still was horrible, it was painful, and our nature is to avoid pain at all costs, or course he wanted out. Plus, I doubt being insulted helped any.
