Maude: What kind of flower would you like to be?
Harold: I don't know. One of these, maybe.(points to a huge bed of daisies)
Maude: Why do you say that?
Harold: Because they're all alike.
Maude: Oh, but they're NOT! Look. See, some are smaller; some are
fatter; some grow to the left, some to the right; some even have lost
some petals. All kinds of observable differences! You see, Harold, I
feel that much of the world's sorrow comes from people who are *this*,(points to one daisy)
yet allow themselves to be treated as *that*. (points to the huge bed of daisies)

In the western/nothern world it comes from too much attachment to material things.

In the 3rd/southern world it comes from hunger and disease.

Resolving the source of unhappiness in the former could do a lot to eliminate it in the latter.

From deluded minds and contrary hearts separated from God. Even a Hollywood script writer can command a bed of daisies in a world of weeds; and religious can smell the weeds, consider death and deny duality.

The problem with the analogy is that everything that comes up in this world is not daisies or roses. Ducks in a row thinking is not all that far from an armed Goose step.

Sorrow and grief are the result of human bondage in a sin nature; not a lack of self assertion or self realization. Aside from Jesus Christ there is no true liberty.

For each and every daisy, the perception of sorrow comes from within. With a distorted world view, everything appears broken. With a hardwon, non-mistaken world view, one could posit that each daisy is suffering because they apprehend all of these various objects of observation to be intrinsically real.

it is a never ending disease - LIFE - each day every day remains dormant, as i get older i realise that we exist to consume and be consumed. We are ants, scuttling around, existing in a world created by governments, corporations, financial institutions and religions. It is strange to me that we are told that we live in a free society, yet, is it truly free? we pay taxes on everything we need, everything we buy, water which should be free, is charged to us, whether from the tap or by the bottle. Essential needs like healthcare, heating, clothing are all charged or/and taxed. To have a roof over our heads, we pay ridiculous sums of money for decent housing, so the rich keep getting richer and the poor, will, eventually die. Sometimes i think i am the only one who see's all this. who thinks all this. Does not anyone else care? Liberal minded people come across as too weak, other political parties change their minds like the wind. There is no fair government for anyone in the world. It is time for change, it is time for sensible decisions to be made, it is time for all of us to be treated as equals.
