I am 5'4 female weighing in at about 280 pounds. I have been exercising regularly now with a trainer for about two months but nothing has happened. I am much stronger, but because of my horrible diet, I can't lose weight. Do any of you know a doable diet plan for a college student (very poor) who has a penchant for overeating and sugar cravings. Any help would be really really appreciated.

I understand the struggle of trying to lose weight. I have lost about 80lbs in the past year, have about another 100 to go.

What worked for me was phasing out fast food and processed foods slowly replacing them with whole grains, fruits, veggies, nuts, seeds and lean proteins. I know it sounds expensive but most of the foods aren't much more expensive and on a super plus they are much more filling. Healthy carbs are your friend and I don't have any food that is totally off limits to me I just limit the refined foods.

An example of my daily meals...

Breakfast: Whole grain cereal with organic skim milk
Morning Snack: Fruit smoothie made with yogurt, skim milk, strawberries, pineapple, frozen raspberries and a few slices of peaches.
Lunch: Turkey sandwich on health nut bread with carrots and a green salad (dressing on the side)
Afternoon snack: Sliced apple with peanut butter and string cheese.
Dinner: Green salad, Spaghetti (made with barilla pasta plus and lean organic meat)
Evening snack: half an apple sliced with 1 oz of cheese, some whole wheat crackers and a glass of wine.

The most important thing is to make changes gradually so you will stick with them. Remember that you didn't gain the weight over night and you aren't going to lose it over night either. If I can do it so can you :)

Try a cleansing diet! I did and lost 11 pounds and 21 inches in only 9 days. I was very happy with the results and continued on the program and lost 29 pounds in 5 weeks. This is the fastest I have ever lost with other diets like Jenny Craig, Weight Watchers, Medifast, Slimfast etc…. Cleansing works by removing impurities from your body. You get impurities from your food (pesticides, preservatives, food additives, colorings) water, chemicals, pollution, medications, alcohol, hormones that the animals you eat were fed etc….YUCK! The impurites get coated with fat and remain in your body. To remove the fat, you have to remove the impurites. This system worked for me, maybe it can work for you too. You can check out the website or call this toll free number 1-877-587-4647 for more info. The program is not cheap, but it is worth every penny since it works and keeps you motivated. Good luck! Try to limit your carbs...it is easy to do...I am on a diet of 150 carbs a day (but once in a while I cheat and give in to the cravings) and I've lost 10 pounds. and you can research carb content for all kinds of things (restaurants and grocery items) on the internet. Fruits (fresh and canned) have a TON of carbs so try to limit those to two servings per day. Nuts (especially almonds and peanuts) are really good for you. Also watch the fat and transfat content. Nuts have fat, but the good kind (mono or poly) stay away from partially hydrogenated anything. And use olive oil for cooking. Broil meats instead of frying. Keep at it...you'll see results!
