I began running again as a workout plan. I've been watching what I've been eating carefully. Additionally, I monitor my weight religiously. Since started my program, I lost about ten pounds. Recently, I gained about three pounds back. I look in the mirror and I appear thinner and more fit, but I've gained weight. I know I haven't been eating more calories since I keep a food log.

Excercise doesn't only take weight off. It builds muscle which by volume weighs more than fat. The scales does not really tell you the whole story. You need to measure your Body Mass Index in order to really know where the weight is comming from.

Good Luck

You are gaining muscle. Muscle weighs more than fat does. Don't look at the scale.. I usually look to see what clothes fits... if the clothes is getting to big, you are losing weight... good luck and keep up the good work!!

Muscle is more dense than fat. Leg muscles are big. It's a natural thing. I once knew a martial artist who had a hard body but he weighed a lot. His muscles were very dense.
