when I met my boyfriend he told me he liked a girl who is clingy. I told him I am not usually like that but I would see what I could do. well I ended up liking him so much that it was not hard to be clingy. Well I feel as like I am the only one making an effort to communicate in the relationship so I backed off. I am now starting to act like I normally do in most relationships. Which is less clingy and more independent and now all of the sudden he is all over me texting me, calling me etc.. so my question is why would he tell me to be clingy when by being independent I get the attention I want from him?

I feel guys like a challenge, he may have said he wanted a clingy girl (that i feel makes them feel wanted in some way) but most guys do not like someone to be clingy. It is the thrill of not always being available. Well i know what i mean i just hope you do, LOL

men eh?!

he thinks he wants constant attention, but when he does he doesnt need to work sso hard at the relationship coz you're doing all the legwork!
when you back off, he then has to do some work, which shows he does care for you, and also puts you back in control a bit more.
respond to his attentions, be in a 50/50 relationship, try to avoid being clingy as its suffocationg and unhealthy. if you feel he's getting too clingy, let him know gently.
good luck!

I don't think he know what he wants. So keep doing what you are doing cause it is working.
