Have you tried homeopathy? Find a good homeopath who may recommend the remedy 'Mixed Pollens'. He may even treat you constitutionally, ie. your overall general wellbeing. It has worked for a couple of people I know with hayfever. It certainly helped with my headaches and fatigue.
Best of luck... I hope you get some relief.

I had the worst hayfever growing up... luckily over the past few years I kind of grew out of it.. but this year is unusally awful. I used to take Clarinex the perscription kind.. but I changed recently to over the counter Claritin... I only did so because I didnt need it that often, and only take it as needed. I also agree with the last poster about the honey. That is so true. Pure honey that is locally made is the best for you.. if you can get a hold of some pure Honeycomb to chew on.. that is even better. Honey is so easy to eat, and great on so many different things. Other than that, try to stay away from doing things that will put you in direct contact with the stuff. I know that is real hard to do.. but I went to an allergist and took a scratch test. They were able to tell me from that exactly what I was allergic to (cats, mold, cut grass, oak trees etc). Then you can pinpoint exactly what to stay away from. Good luck... it will get better!!

I hear you..I too have terrible hayfever..and to tell you the truth the best thing that worked for me and still gives me the best relief..was Tylenol sinus......It has been a savior Its not an allergy med but, if you read the package it works for allergy symptoms..I have never felt better.
Also, if your Dr. doesn't want to give you injections..why not get allergy tested. Seriously. Make sure its hayfever, and not one particular kind of plant, or pollen that makes it worse. At any rate if you find out its just hayfever fine..you armed with information, and with the allergy test you may be able to go back and show the Dr. the results. With the results he may be more keen on injections depending on what it shows.

Starting at the bottom, hypnotherapy is worse than useless, not only does it have no therapeutic effect, but some charlatan takes your money and puts it towards his new car!
I agree avoid steroid depot injections they are a sledgehammer with potential future side effects like osteoporosis.(Kenalog is the classic.)
You may well need to take antihistamines plus a local preparation for each area:
Opticrom/Zaditen for your eyes
Nasonex/Rhinocort for your nose
Salbutamol or even low dose inhaled steroids for your chest.
Other drugs which can sometimes help are singulair and in extremis low dose oral steroids. They at least are more controllable than the depot.

I suffered with really bad hay-fever. :Last year I was on 3 different antihistamines and a nasal spray. I went to my GP and I was given the steroid injection, and you know what? It was the best thing I ever did! I did not suffer any side effects and I seem not to be suffering with hay-fever this year, at least not as yet. I am hoping that I do not suffer with it this year. My advise: take the jab.... remember though, when you take it, it takes about 3 - 4 days to start working its magic. Good luck.

Not hypnotherepy but I have found that local honey helps. If you have a little honey taken from local bees, (i.e within 5 miles from your house) every day it REALLY helps. I have BAD hayfever and last year was the first year I tried it and didn't suffer. Local farm shops sell it.
I can't see how hypnotherepy can work. Hayfever is a medical allergy not a psychological issue.

Have you gone to an allergist? I get allergy shots monthly - not steroids, but the actual allergen. It takes a while to get to the point where you go once a month, but it does help to minimize the symptoms. I also take Zyrtec, nasocort and then rinse my sinuses with a saline solution (Neilmed).
Other than that, try to minimize your exposure to the allergens. Good luck!

Loratadine tablets 10mg, non drowsy hayfever and allergy relief tablets from Tesco 99p. I find these ideal and one a day is all that is needed, without that awful drowsiness.Start soonish. good luck.
