My Dad and I got along great, I was one of his favorite, I could tell by the way he treated me, compared to my other sisters.
Of course I was kind and respectful, and adored him, some of my sisters were snotty to Dad and rude.
Where you kind to your Dad?
--->now my Mother...another story, lol<----

You're lucky. I never had a good relationship with my father. It was very strained and he never spent any time with me or my sister, and was always telling us we'd never amount to anything and that he didn't have any confidence in us. Your quote is SO RIGHT......I'm estranged from my father now and as my son says, I have more issues than National Geographic. My mother is just the opposite.

The lack of not having a father had a tremendous impact on me! I would have done anything to have had a father. I day-dreamed sometimes in public wondering if the passing man looked like my father.
Love your dad with all your heart!! Life is not a dress rehersal!

My Dad was THE major influence in my life. We were and still are extremely close. From him, I got my gift of gab, my love of movies, my sense of fair play, my love for the water, my love of amusement parks, my sense of humor, and my positive outlook in life.
My Dad spend countless hours with me. He took me everywhere. He always spoke to me like an adult; like a person -- never like a child. He was never condescending to me. Never raised his voice. He was and is a wonderful father and a true example of what is good and right in a man.

My father, was and still is my rock. He always encouraged me, made me feel good about myself, and told me I could be whatever I wanted to be! My mother was the same. They have always been my biggest fans, and kept me honest and grounded. My father would walk through fire for me and everyone else in my family, we are all different, but the love is there.

My Dad was a hero to me. He worked hard and taught me many things. He came to my baseball games and helped me practice when I needed to.
He took me fishing, hunting, camping, etc. I was respectful of my dad. We've lost touch over the last several years and I miss my dad. I love my dad.

My father has always been there for me and loved me more than live itself! I also know I was his favorite. I feared him though, I would not dare smoke or drink or any of that out of fear of disappointing him!

Never accepted the answer 'no'.
And never wanted to say 'no' to others.
Still struggle with that, and gives me a parental blackmail.
It is hard, but not as bad as when i was younger.
Other than that, he has been a good one.
