If you wash your hair in hot water with regular shampoo some of the red will fade out a bit and the color will become less intense. If you used an at home color kit, check the instructions to see how long they recommend you wait before you dye your hair again. A lot of times, the people at Salli Hansen are very helpful and can advise you on a color that will dye over an unwanted color. They could also give you an idea of how long you should wait before dying your hair again.

When I did it turned may hair a funny color [more orange!] and damaged it.
What I did the next time I messed up on the color was use shampoo for normal hair and let it wash out for about a month then I colored it. It worked much better. Also when you color your hair next it helps if you use a color without ammonia in it. Natural Instincts is a good one.

to get some of the dye out, you can use a white vinegar rinse. you cant go from a dark brown to a blonde without actually bleaching the brown out. you can successfully go a few shades lighter by yourself. if you decide to try to color it again, choose an ash based color to counter the red brassy tones.
good luck

You're supposto wait 4 weeks. I tired to dye my hair blonde, and it went bright yellow, and the day after, i got it dyed and nothing happened. Ask the person who died your hair the first time how long she would recommend. Also, try a couple other salons to see where you want to go. I waited one day, and my hair is still fine.

well you can dry to dye it again. The only problem is it might become damamged. The best thing you can do is to NOT WASH IT 1000 TIMES!! this will dry it out, and thats relle bad. So use a deep conditioning trestment after you dye it, or maybe use a glaze.

Dear Tammie, if u don't like color of ur hair dye it what color u want just now & don't listen to anybody, because if u listen them they r saying that u'd suffer ur hair, if u dye it. But if we think so we mustn't do anything with it, because we can say: 1.If we dye we will suffer it, so I won't dye. 2.If we wash it with shampoo, shampoo will do it worse as there r bad ingredients in it. 3. if we comb it, they will spill (shed).
And we won't do anything with it.
And our hair will be dirty, not combed and not beautiful.
SO DO WHATEVER U WANT WITH UR HAIR.

well if you do dye it again. DO NOT dye it blonde. If you dye it blonde then because you just dyed your hair dark the blonde wont come out as you want it. I would stick with a Dark auburn Brown if I were you.

You can do it but you are going to destroy your hair. Let some time pass. Anyway the colour changes after you wash your hair a few times and maybe then you will like it more.

id recommend using a colour rinse for about a month or two to give your hair some time to recover...rinses coat the outside of your hair and are moisturising...which is probably what your hair needs after dying.

hope this helps
