Great question.
I guess the answer would depend on how and where I die. I would hope that my last breath isn't a cry of 'help'. If my family are around me I'd probably tell them I loved them and to be strong.
I guess if someone is in a lot of pain they might be calling out for god to take them?
What made you ask this question?

Trying to cover all 8000 Gods created by man would be hard in one breath. Would be a bit bad to call out just one and for it to be the wrong one. On second thoughts, forget the lot; i have people that i actually believe exist and love; i would call to them; family and friends.

Not knowing the time or manner of my death, it is hard to say what I would do during my last breath... Sudden death, like a car wreck or something like that most likely I would call upon god in the traditional form of "God damn it!"
Otherwise, my last breath will most likely be used to say my goodbyes, if I need to call upon Divinity it can wait until after my business here is done.

Can anybody truthfully answer that at a time (the present) when the thought of death is far removed from answering questions on
Yahoo?
Is anyone out there in that position right now that can answer this?
I personally think that calling out for God is not going to change the outcome!

In my capacity as a nurse, over 27yrs i have witnessed a lot of deaths, mainly of elderly people and have never heard anyone cry out for god. I have however heard some call the name of a loved one who has already passed ( a husband / wife /mother / father etc) I have no religious belief so i doubt very much if i would cry out for god. I worked in a christian home for the elderly for 7yrs and during that time never heard anyone cry out for god on their death bed.

No. The scenario is this: I'm about to die, I'm thinking, "This is finally it." Then suddenly, I start thinking about the religious superstitions that others buy into because of emotional manipulation and childhood indoctrination, and think, "Hmm, well, I know I'm kinda busy, right now, dying, but let's do a little experiment, "Hey, God! Could you do something about this?"
Um, no, I don't see that happening. At most, I might use the word "god" in an expletive because I'm in pain or something. I've been known to use god in expletives when I'm in bed with my girlfriend, but I don't think you could consider that a call to god either.

1. Darwin did not recant on his deathbed, no matter what stupid creationist propaganda tells you. There are no reports to confirm this.
2. What makes you think I would do such a thing if I don't BELIEVE in a god?

No! I would most likely call out to my son. Then my soul will cross over to go home.
